This side of the card also features a matching serial number that aligns with the same number from the bar. The other side of the assay card includes the signature of the assayer, the weight of the bar, and metal purity.

Minted ingots such as these start life as a long cast gold bar. Those cast gold bars are fed into computer-controlled stamping machines that precisely cut each bar to size and stamp an engraving onto the surface of the bar.
